Melampaui atau Melanggar Kodrat Manusia?
Teologi Penciptaan Herman Bavinck sebagai Respons Teologis terhadap Transhumanisme Radikal

Transhumanisme radikal mengklaim bahwa natur manusia adalah proyek yang belum selesai dan harus direkayasa ulang melalui teknologi, sehingga menantang antropologi teologis Kristen pada tataran ontologis dan antropologis. Artikel ini bertujuan mengonstruksi respons teologis terhadap transhumanisme radikal berdasarkan teologi penciptaan Herman Bavinck. Dengan menggunakan studi literatur kualitatif dan analisis teks, penelitian ini mengkaji karya-karya primer Bavinck bersama literatur transhumanisme. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa tiga konsep fundamental Bavinck, yakni creatio ex nihilo, imago Dei, dan telos manusia, secara langsung mempermasalahkan asumsi-asumsi dasar transhumanisme. Ketergantungan manusia kepada Allah adalah kondisi ontologis yang normatif dan bermartabat, bukan kondisi inferior yang harus dilampaui; tubuh merupakan bagian integral dari imago Dei; dan kepenuhan eksistensi manusia hanya dapat digenapi melalui anugerah ilahi, bukan rekayasa teknologi. Artikel ini memberikan kontribusi dengan memperluas teologi dogmatis Bavinck ke dalam konteks bioteknologi kontemporer. Berbeda dengan studi-studi sebelumnya yang membahas transhumanisme terutama pada tingkat etika terapan atau eskatologi, artikel ini menawarkan tanggapan yang didasarkan pada teologi penciptaan dan antropologi teologis sebagai landasan utamanya, sehingga memberikan kritik teologis yang secara struktural lebih mendahului terhadap asumsi-asumsi inti transhumanisme.
